“Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it, for the time is near.” Revelation 1:3
I’ve heard countless stories of believers who’ve had the truths they needed and were using them in the FREEdom process to fight the battle in their minds. Yet the peace they were seeking finally came when they simply opened up the Book and started reading it.
I heard this same truth from a believer in Jesus from a Muslim background when they shared their Jesus story. This person was looking for peace in their life. They were raised in an Islamic home and country. They studied the Quran and still came away unsettled in their mind and heart. After reading the Bible, however, they felt the peace of mind they were longing to personally know. This eventually led them to find a believer who showed them how to have personal relationship with the Living God.
Having said that, I’ve also heard countless stories from believers who say they don’t have enough time to simply read, let alone study the Bible. Guess who’s keeping them too busy? The question I often ask them is this, “Is your way of living working for you?” If not, it’s time to start living with a Biblical worldview, not a Christian one.
The Bible is the most powerful tool to process out the garbage that steals our joy, peace and security. It has so much power that just reading it can bring much needed peace of mind.
