“You’re life is a book filled with blank pages.” The question is, “Who’s going to write on them – you or Jesus?”
Are you ready to go to the next chapter of your life? Some are not because they keep reading what was written in the last chapter – good or bad. If the last chapter was a good one, praise God for it. Then make the decision to see what the next chapter holds. Choose to let Jesus write what comes next. He did a good job with the last chapter and will do just as well on the next one.
If it wasn’t so good, it’s time to stop reading it over and over again! Hear me when I say, the outcome doesn’t change no matter how many times you read it. This is where biblical repentance comes into play. The word simply means to change direction – stop going backward to the old chapter towards the fresh new pages ahead and change your thinking – replace the thinking that wrote the stinky chapter with the truths the Spirit desires to write with on the fresh clean blank pages.
Either way, it’s time to turn the page of life and move forward in your relationship with Jesus. If you do, God’s word guarantees it will be an even better read!

It Can’t Be Said Enough
“For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being might boast in the presence of God. And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, so that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.” (1 Corinthians 1:26-31)
Be reminded this coming year of who you were before Christ: powerless, not very smart, nobodies, and ignorant of God and His ways. You couldn’t defeat your drugs of choice or fill the gaping hole in your life on your own. If you could, you wouldn’t have needed a relationship with Jesus in the first place. The fact remains is that you couldn’t and needed a Savior to either clean up the mess you made or shorten the distance between you and your God.
Today you stand tall in God’s presence because of one Person – Jesus. He is your righteousness – the ability to do anything right and pleasing to God. He is your sanctification – the ability to leave the old life behind and draw closer to God. And He is your redeemer – the One who can turn your messes into victories.
All that we’re looking for life is dependent upon Jesus and what He did and does for us. The question that remains in the days ahead is this: will you choose to follow Him? Victory comes in life to those who do.

It’s Already an Awesome Christmas!
“For God so loved (put your name in here) that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
“To all who received Him, to those who believe in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.”
It’s already an awesome day regardless of how this day turns or turned out. Your God loved and loves you; thus, you are loved. Once you put your faith in the One who came today – Jesus – you not only were given life, but also became a secure child of God. Praise God. It’s already been an awesome Christmas!

Hope’s Reality
“Then you will know that I am the LORD; those who hope in Me will not be disappointed.” (Isaiah 49:23). Today is the day before we celebrate the arrival of our King to live a sinless life, because we couldn’t, and to die in our place and rise again to give us a life we couldn’t get on our own, a true Savior.
It’s a good time to talk about God’s timing. If you’re like me, you want the Spirit to change your life…yesterday. In most cases, God takes His sweet perfect time to replace our fallen character with Jesus’ perfect One. This is the basis for our hope. He is the author and finisher of our faith. He will finish the job.
That kind of hope was given solid footing in reality when the promised Messiah/Savior arrived in Bethlehem that first Christmas day. Jesus told His disciples, “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see! For I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.” (Luke 10:23-24)
When Jesus came, the hope of the prophets and kings became reality. People could see the LORD before their very eyes. His promises came true and became the basis for them and us to know our Savior.
Hope is hope because it’s not being experienced…yet. Hope takes faith that by continually listening to and following Jesus our lives will be change. Hope that is strong actually believes what is promised is already a done deal.
Jesus will change your life. Christmas is a sign of hope’s reality. Keep believing and hoping this Christmas season that your life will be changed. It most certainly will. Jesus doesn’t disappoint. He always comes through on His promises.

When God Isn’t a Cuss Word
“You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God.” (Exodus 20:7) A most interesting truth to be talking about at Christmastime, but still a much needed one for us to ponder.
Misuse doesn’t mean to turn God into a cuss word, but to commit evil in the name of God. “When an irreligious person commits evil, it doesn’t bring God into disrepute. But when a religious person commits evil in the name of God he destroys the greatest hope for goodness on earth – belief in a God. [Thus,] they are doing terrible damage to the name of God.”
Some people have stopped looking for a relationship with God because of what has been done in His name – Christian, Muslim, Hindu, etc. – no one has a particular corner on the market when it comes to doing evil in the name of Christ and/or God. Because of that fact, Exodus 20:7 shows this to be the only Commandment with a negative side-effect attached to it. Pretty heady stuff!
This Christmas, who are people seeing in our lives? One of the names given to Jesus in the Tanach (Isaiah 7:14) and at His birth is Immanuel (Matthew 1:23), which means “God with us.” As believers in Jesus, God is with us every where we go, including all the preparations we make for Christmas day from shopping and spending to cleaning and celebrating. This Christmas season what Jesus are people seeing with you?
Let your shine in both your actions and words because you’ve been letting Him rid of your drugs of choice so He can truly be the Prince of Peace in your life.
